It is strange but true that,the establishment of Mahatma Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, +3, Baisinga in the district of Mayurbhanja stirred a new life and thrill among the local intellectuals and lovers of education. The establishment of the college in this tribal populated area was not the outcome of an instant effort, it was rather the result of the deep felt need of the long past. The dream came true at time least expected.
Mahatma Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, +3,Baisinga was establishment in the year 1993. At first Degree Art class started with 128 seats having optional subjects like History, Pol. Science, Odia, Economics and Education. Another dream came into being when Degree Science class started in the year 1999-2000 with 64 seats (PCM: 32 & CBZ: 32). Our college is also indebted to UGC, for it has granted its 2f affiliation in favour of this College.
The Pressing need of accomodation was solved after the completion of concrete buildings, Boundary wall with iron gate with the helping hands of the locality have extended their generous contribution towards the growth of the institution.
A distinctive feature of this college is its open and large body playground that caters to the needs of the young man in preparing them to be true athletes. For the interest of the science students aquipped Laboratories have been established.The College has separate Science Laboratories and library.It provides adequate accommodation for the Principal's Chamber, Office Room, SAMS Room, Examination Section, Admission Section, Staff Common Room, Boys Common Room with toilet facilities, Girls common rooms with toilet facilities and separate cycle stand for boys and girls students.
The College has Honours subject i.e. Odia Honours with 32 seats, English Honours with 8 seats, History,Pol.Sc & Economics Honours with 24 seats each, Education Honours with 16 seats, Physics, Chemistry,Botany & Zoology Honours with 16 seats each with eqalified staff members.
The college has built its name for healthy Teacher - Student relationship, Sound sense of discipline among the students. Regular teaching and staff factory result in the University Examination.Our beloved institution woes to the Authorities as taking so much pain to stand the institution.
Growth,expansion and diversification are the vital constituents of a Vibrant Organisation.The Justification Of the name of the college comes at least in one aspect. From the inception onwards it has come across many ups and downs on its way. In Spite of hurdles and hardships the founders and the staff members of the institution have never been divorced from their destination. The Gandhian spirit always inspired them to work honestly and sincerely.
